Solax Monitor vs SolaxCloud — Which Is Better?

SolaxCloud is useful for basic monitoring. SolaxMonitor is being built around the Collector for owners who want reliable data, history, tariffs, EV visibility, and automation.

Why Compare?

SolaxCloud is the official monitoring app provided by SolaX Power. It's free and comes pre-configured with your inverter purchase. But 'free' doesn't always mean 'best'. SolaxCloud was designed as a basic companion app, not a full-featured monitoring dashboard.

SolaxMonitor was rebuilt around the local Collector because that is the only path that can deliver reliable 10-second data, complete history, EV visibility, tariffs, weather-aware planning, and automation-ready Modbus TCP control.

10-second Collector updates

The Collector reads the local inverter data path every 10 seconds, so dashboards and automations react to what is happening now.

Automation-ready local bridge

Modbus TCP writes, EV charging, tariff decisions, and export control need a trusted process running inside your home network.

Collector Box coming

Technical users can run the Collector now. For everyone else, a plug-and-play Collector Box is planned for June 2026.

What Users Say

SolaX inverter owners who switch to Solax Monitor consistently report the same things: faster data, better visualization, and features they didn't know they needed until they tried them.

For many users the forecast is the first “okay, this is useful” moment: if tomorrow looks weak, you can charge the car, run laundry or protect battery reserve today instead of guessing.

Is It Worth Switching?

SolaxMonitor is for owners who want more than a basic cloud app. With the Collector path you get:

  • Real-time dashboard with 10-second updates from the local Collector
  • Weather-based solar forecasting with hourly predictions
  • Dedicated battery monitoring with trends and low-battery alerts
  • Energy analytics with savings calculator and self-sufficiency tracking
  • Automation-ready Modbus TCP path for tariffs, EV charging, and export control

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Solax Monitor an official SolaX product?

No. SolaxMonitor is an independent monitoring application for SolaX owners. It uses a local Collector to read inverter data inside your home network and is not affiliated with SolaX Power Co., Ltd.

Do I need SolaxCloud to use SolaxMonitor?

SolaxCloud can stay available for the official portal or limited import data, but the full SolaxMonitor product is collector-powered. Cloud-only monitoring is not equivalent to the Collector path.

Will switching affect my inverter warranty?

Read-only monitoring does not change inverter settings. Automation features can send user-configured Modbus commands, so they should be enabled only after the local setup is verified.

Can I try Solax Monitor before paying?

Yes. Solax Monitor offers a free trial so you can explore all features before committing. No credit card required on web.

Does Solax Monitor work with all SolaX inverter models?

SolaxMonitor targets SolaX X1, X3, X1-Hybrid, and X3-Hybrid systems that expose local data through a supported WiFi/LAN dongle or Modbus-capable network path. Exact telemetry can vary by inverter and firmware.
