Solar Energy Analytics & Cost Savings
Turn raw inverter data into actionable insights. Track production trends, calculate savings, and understand your energy independence over time.
Beyond Real-Time: Long-Term Insights
Real-time monitoring tells you what's happening now. Analytics tell you what's happening over time. SolaxMonitor's analytics page aggregates your inverter data into daily, weekly, and monthly views that reveal trends invisible in moment-to-moment data.
Track your solar production month-over-month to understand seasonal patterns. Compare grid import across periods to see if your self-consumption is improving. Identify which days yielded the most production and correlate them with weather conditions.

Self-Sufficiency Ratio
Track what percentage of your consumption is covered by solar power.
Calculate Your Solar Savings
One of the most satisfying parts of owning solar is knowing how much money you're saving. SolaxMonitor calculates your estimated savings using two numbers you provide: your electricity buy rate (what you pay per kWh from the grid) and your feed-in tariff (what you earn per kWh exported).
The savings calculation accounts for self-consumed solar (avoids grid import at buy rate), exported solar (earns feed-in tariff), and the net difference compared to having no solar system at all. You'll see daily, monthly, and cumulative savings in your configured currency.
Key Metrics Explained
- Total Production — Total energy generated by your solar panels (kWh).
- Self-Consumption — Solar energy used directly by your home or stored in battery.
- Grid Export — Surplus solar energy sent back to the electrical grid.
- Grid Import — Energy drawn from the grid when solar and battery aren't enough.
- Self-Sufficiency — Percentage of total consumption met by solar (higher is better).
Frequently Asked Questions
What analytics does SolaxMonitor provide?
SolaxMonitor tracks daily, weekly, and monthly totals for solar production, self-consumption, grid import, grid export, and battery usage. You can see trends over time, compare periods, and calculate your energy cost savings and self-sufficiency ratio.
Can I see how much money my solar system is saving?
Yes. Configure your electricity buy and sell rates in Settings, and SolaxMonitor calculates estimated cost savings based on your actual production and self-consumption data. You'll see exactly how much your solar panels are saving you each day, month, and year.
How far back does the historical data go?
Detailed SolaxMonitor history starts when the Collector begins sending data. From that point onward you can view daily totals, trends, battery behavior, imports, exports, and savings over time.
What is the self-sufficiency ratio?
Self-sufficiency ratio measures what percentage of your total electricity consumption was covered by your solar panels (either directly or via battery). A ratio of 80% means you sourced 80% of your electricity from solar and only 20% from the grid.
