Power Flow

SolaX Power Flow Visualization

See energy move through your home in real-time. An animated diagram shows exactly where your solar power is going — to your home, battery, or grid.

Energy Movement, Visualized

The power flow diagram is the centerpiece of SolaxMonitor's dashboard. It transforms raw inverter data into an intuitive visual: animated arrows show energy flowing from your solar panels through the inverter to your battery, home loads, and the grid.

At a glance, you can answer the most important question: "Where is my solar energy going right now?" Green arrows mean you're self-consuming or storing solar. Red arrows mean you're pulling from the grid. It's that simple.

Animated Energy Arrows

Directional arrows animate to show real-time energy flow between system components.

At-a-Glance Understanding

Instantly see whether you're self-consuming, exporting, or importing power.

Mobile Optimized

The power flow adapts to phone screens without losing clarity or detail.

Color-Coded Status

Green for solar/battery power, red for grid import — intuitive color coding.

Understanding the Five Nodes

The power flow diagram displays five interconnected nodes, each representing a key part of your energy system:

  • Solar Panels — Current production in watts from your PV array.
  • Inverter — The central hub converting and routing DC/AC power.
  • Battery — State of charge and current charge/discharge power.
  • Home — Total household consumption from all connected loads.
  • Grid — Import or export power exchanged with the electrical grid.

Why Visual Monitoring Matters

Research shows that homeowners who can visually see their energy consumption patterns are more likely to shift usage to high-solar periods. The power flow diagram creates an immediate feedback loop: run a high-power appliance and watch the home consumption node spike while grid import increases or battery discharge kicks in.

After a few days with the live flow, you start to recognize the house. You see when heavy loads make sense, when the battery should carry the evening, and when the grid is simply part of the plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the power flow visualization show?

The power flow diagram shows energy movement between five nodes: solar panels, inverter, battery, home consumption, and the grid. Animated arrows indicate the direction and magnitude of energy flow in real-time. You can see at a glance whether you're consuming solar, charging your battery, importing from the grid, or exporting surplus.

How is the power flow different from just seeing numbers?

Numbers tell you what; the power flow shows you why. When you see 2,000W of solar production and 500W going to the battery while 1,500W powers your home, it clicks instantly. The visual diagram makes energy flow intuitive in a way that raw figures can't match.

Does the power flow update in real-time?

Yes. The power flow visualization updates with every Collector refresh, normally every 10 seconds. Arrows animate to show current flow direction, and wattage labels update to reflect live values.
