Solax Monitor

About Solax Monitor

Solax Monitor is an independent monitoring and automation app for SolaX inverter owners, built around a local Collector for reliable data, history, tariffs, EV visibility, and automation.

Built by a SolaX owner

Solax Monitor is built by Charlie, a SolaX owner and solo developer. It started from a real frustration shared on solar forums: slow data, missing context, too many tabs, and not enough control over a real SolaX system. The philosophy is simple: do not sell a compromise dressed up as a feature. If something feels rough, I want users to tell me. That is how this becomes a tool SolaX owners can argue about, improve, and eventually trust.

Why it is collector-powered

Cloud-only monitoring is useful for a quick look, but it cannot deliver reliable 10-second history, EV charging visibility, spot-price planning, weather-aware forecasting, or safe Modbus automation. A hosted web app cannot reach a private inverter IP inside a home network, so Solax Monitor uses a local Collector that reads the inverter every 10 seconds and syncs authenticated readings to your account. The inverter stays on your LAN.

Where it is going

The roadmap is shaped openly with the SolaX owner community. Planned next steps include:

  • A plug-and-play SolaxMonitor Collector Box (targeted August 2026) for owners who do not want to maintain their own hardware, with a price kept close to hardware and support cost.
  • Direct Tesla integration so EV charging can follow surplus solar, tariffs, and spot prices even more closely.
