SolaX Collector monitoring for reliable 10-second data
The Collector is the always-on bridge between your local SolaX system and SolaxMonitor. It is the full product path for history, EV visibility, tariffs and automations.
Why the Collector exists
A hosted web app cannot directly reach a private inverter IP inside your home network, and cloud APIs are delayed or incomplete for several useful metrics.
The SolaxMonitor Collector runs locally, reads the inverter every 10 seconds, and syncs authenticated readings to your account so the dashboard and automations have reliable data.
Always-on local bridge
Runs on a NAS, Raspberry Pi, Mac, PC, Docker host or the planned Collector Box.
LAN/WiFi/Modbus access
Talks to the local SolaX data path instead of waiting for delayed cloud polling.
Complete history
Keeps collecting when the browser is closed, your phone sleeps, or you are away.
Private by design
The inverter stays on your LAN; SolaxMonitor receives only authenticated readings.
What becomes possible
Collector data powers the live dashboard, battery history, EV/wallbox visibility, tariff calculations, solar forecasts and long-term analytics.
For control workflows, the Collector is also the safe place to prepare Modbus TCP writes because it is awake inside the same network as the inverter.
Setup options
Choose the path that matches your technical comfort:
- Run the free Collector today on hardware that already stays on 24/7.
- Use Docker on Synology, QNAP, Raspberry Pi, Mac, Windows or another home server.
- Wait for the plug-and-play SolaxMonitor Collector Box if you do not want to maintain hardware.
- Use SolaX Cloud only for limited import or diagnostics, not as the full product path.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need the Collector for SolaxMonitor?
Yes for the complete product. Reliable 10-second history, EV visibility, tariffs and Modbus automations require the Collector or the upcoming Collector Box.
Can the web app collect in the background by itself?
No. Browsers and mobile apps cannot reliably poll a local inverter while closed, sleeping or outside the home network.
Does the Collector expose my inverter to the internet?
No. The Collector connects outward to SolaxMonitor and keeps inverter access inside your LAN.
What if I am not technical?
That is why the Collector Box is planned: the same collector path, packaged as plug-and-play hardware.
